Overview

Wilpattu National Park is located at a distance of 40 km from the main city of Anuradhapura. This is considered to be the largest and oldest national park in Sri Lanka.

A Wilpattu safari offers a thrilling opportunity to explore dense forests, open grasslands, and serene lakes while watching for the park’s diverse inhabitants. The park’s relative remoteness means fewer crowds, allowing for a more intimate and immersive wildlife experience.

Guided jeep tours led by experts take you deep into the park, enhancing your chances of spotting the majestic leopard or a herd of elephants at a waterhole. The rich biodiversity and tranquil surroundings make Wilpattu a haven for photographers and nature lovers.
